Homage paid to Kapunadu founder

Rajya Sabha member K. Chiranjeevi on Wednesday said he would carry forward the dream of Miriyala Venkat Rao to get Kapu community included in the BC list.

“He (Venkat Rao) had fought for the inclusion of Kapu community in the BC list, and I shall take it forward,” he said. Mr. Chiranjeevi was speaking at a memorial function organised by the Miriyala Venkat Rao Asaya Sadana Committee, here on Wednesday.

Leaders across party lines paid homage to the departed Kapu leader and founder of Kapunadu at the memorial function.

APCC chief N Raghuveera Reddy said the fight to include the Kapu community in the BC list was now the duty of every political party.

Recalling his association with Mr. Venkat Rao since his student days, HRD Minister Ganta Srinivas Rao said the founder of Kapunadu played a stellar role in uniting the Kapu community and highlighting the problems faced by the community.

Endowment Minister P. Manikyala Rao, former ministers P.V.G. Mohan Rao, Vatti Vasant Kumar, Botcha Satyanarayana, C Ramachandraiah and other leaders such as B. Satya Rao, and Dronamraju Srinivas, spoke.
