GVMC, VSP officials conduct joint inspection of reservoirs

Making a field visit to the Kanithi Balancing Reservoir and Meghadrigedda reservoir on Wednesday along with Visakhapatnam Steel Plant Director (Operations) D.N. Rao, Municipal Commissioner Pravin Kumar has asked officials to ensure 50 MGD supply to the city and 30 MGD to VSP. At present 33 MGD water is being supplied to the steel plant and drawing from various sources it should be maintained at 30 MGD, he said.

To prevent pilferage, patrolling along the canals is taken up.

Soon water from Tandava reservoir would also be drawn so that till the end of May no water shortage was faced, Mr. Pravin Kumar said.

He inspected the MGR where de-weeding was being done to improve water flow.

Advisor to VIWSCO Jaganmohana Rao, Superintendent Engineer (Water Supply) Ananda Rao and executive engineers Samsonraju and Raja Rao participated.
