GVMC trade unions’ plea

June 22, 2014 10:27 pm | Updated 10:27 pm IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

Several trade unions have urged Municipal Commissioner M. V. Satyanarayana to take steps for holding elections for giving the recognised union status in GVMC.

The unions said following their earlier representations to him and his intervention, the Deputy Commissioner of Labour held meetings but with GVMC authorities not readying with voters’ list the process could not be taken forward.

The unions that represented on Friday included VMC Staff and Workers Union, GVMC Employees Union, GVMC Employees and Workers Union, MMC Employees Union and MCV Employees Union.
