Continuing its drive against malaria and dengue, the GVMC has decided to buy more anti-larvae chemicals and nylon meshes for vent pipes of lavatories.

Municipal Commissioner M.V. Satyanarayana expressing concern over the situation held an emergency meeting with the Chief Medical Officer (Health) on Thursday.

He ordered 300 litres each of anti-larvae chemicals for use on fresh and stagnant water and another 300 litres for direct spraying.

The present stock of chemicals should be used in the 14 areas identified as vulnerable to malaria. Besides, 2,000 litres of malaria oil is ready for use in big drains.
