GVMC ready to subsidise horse-riding

March 05, 2012 12:40 pm | Updated 12:40 pm IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

To make horse-riding popular on the beach, GVMC offered a Rs.2,000 assistance to the man who takes tourists on a short ride.

Municipal Commissioner B. Ramanjaneyulu on Sunday told the owner of the horse to collect only Rs.20 instead of Rs.50. On him stating that he would not able to feed the horse, he said the corporation would give him Rs.2,000 a month. However, the owner said he needed some time to take a decision.

On an appeal by morning-walkers, mainly senior citizens, Mr. Ramanjaneyulu instructed officials to construct urinals for men and women.
