With progress being slow in the implementation of water supply project for the One Town area, the GVMC has decided to blacklist the contractor concerned.

There has been hardly any progress in the construction of three reservoirs and pump house in the project taken up for One Town under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission.

Municipal Commissioner M. V. Satyanarayana on Friday asked officials to send proposals to the Engineer-in-Chief to blacklist the contractor concerned.

While completing the eight reservoirs as part of the water supply for 32 merged villages, at least one compartment of the 85 mld water treatment plant should be completed so as to start supply by July, he said.

Projects for central and southwest parts of the city should also be speeded up, he said.

The sewage treatment plant at Narava should be readied by July so as to give household connections. To pave way for completion of the work, issues related to the Railways, National Highways Authority and Revenue should be taken up for early approvals.
