A team lead by Krishna Vamsi, student of KKR and KSR Institute of Technology, Guntur, has won the Fintech Valley student challenge held in Visakhapatnam on Monday. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu presented them a cheque for ₹2 lakh.

Students from 15 colleges participated in a four week summer program (Fintech Valley Student Challenge) on Blockchain, at Fintech Valley as part of the State government and APITA initiative and implemented by IDEALABS.

College secretary Koye Subba Rao said that Mr. Vamsi had earlier rejected a job offer of ₹50 lakh for his prototype developed on blockchain and instead has chosen to become an entrepreneur in an incubation unit developed in technical collaboration with Idealabs.

Pankaj Diwan, MD of IDEALABS, said that Fintech Valley Initiative launched by the State government, is a very progressive initiative and will go a long way in seeding entrepreneurship. He also assured of continued mentoring and more activities for students across the State in partnership with the government.
