GU Research Forum inaugurated

GITAM University president M.V.V.S. Murthi on Saturday inaugurated GU Research Forum to spread recent advances and trends in science and technology.

Speaking on the occasion, he urged the researchers on the importance of patenting and pursuing research by taking support from premier institutes like University Grants Commission, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Department of Science & Technology and Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. He observed that China was on the top in research publications and converting research outcome into marketable products after the US. Mr. Murthi said research was the only way to get world recognition to individuals as well as universities. He advised the faculty to acquire minimum two patents during their academic career.

Institute of Pharmacy Principal S. Ganapathy spoke on nature’s pharmacy.

Vice-Chancellor M.S. Prasada Rao said the GU Research Forum was planning to organise lectures by eminent professors and scientists on every second and forth Saturday. Institute of Science Principal Aruna Lakshmi proposed a vote of thanks.
