GSIB enters into memoranda of understanding with five universities

The GITAM School of International Business is taking all steps to strengthen its international character with working student and faculty exchange programmes with universities abroad, Dean, Director of the School VK Kumar said.

The GSIB has entered into memorandums of understanding with five universities, including a couple of universities in France and one in Germany, for a student and faculty exchange programme under which the students would be able to complete courses of their choice in the other university without having to pay any additional fees. The students would have to foot only the travel bill.

The GSIB proposes to partner with 50 institutions throughout the world. These partnerships would aim at exchange of faculty, students, collaborative research and collaborative programmes such as seminars and workshops, the Dean said.

The GSIB has entered into MoU with International University of Paris-10 in Paris, Burgundy School of Business in Dijon, both in France, and University of Applied Sciences in Wurzburg Germany, he said.

The exchange programme would lend a multicultural outlook to the classroom and enhance the level of discourse and discussion in the classes. Students admitted into GSIB would have the option to do their summer internship projects abroad with the support from its partner institutions.

The GSIB is collaborating with industries to create academic value in the school for students and faculty, it has entered into an MoU with IBM to offer business analytic course to its select students. NTT Data has entered into an MoU with the school to offer SAP course.

Despite the economic slowdown the GSIB has been able to successfully place 85 per cent of its eligible students and hopes to improve it this year.

The School is celebrating 4 Graduation Ceremony on Saturday. Dean Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi Raj S Dhankar is to be the chief guest. Director Phoenix India Group of Companies, Hyderabad, Srikant Badiga is scheduled to deliver the Graduation Address. The GSIB proposes to confer honorary fellowship on CEO of RedBus Phanindra Sama on the occasion.
