Give importance to human values, youth told

Unfurling the tri-colour at the Andhra University grounds on the occasion of the 70{+t}{+h}Independence Day here on Monday, Vice-Chancellor G. Nageswara Rao said youth should take up the ideas of Make in India and Start-ups. He said young minds should not only gain knowledge as the world is moving towards a knowledge society, but also give importance to human values. Registrar V. Uma Maheswara Rao, Rector E.A. Narayan and other senior faculty members were present.

GITAM University celebrated the day with Vice- Chancellor M.S. Prasada Rao hoisting the flag. Addressing the gathering comprising faculty members, staff and students, he urged them to focus on research.

Pro Vice-Chancellor K. Sivarama Krishna, Registrar M. Potharaju, principals and directors were present.

At IGNOU Regional Centre, Director Dr. S. Raja Rao hoisted the flag in the presence of students and staff members.

Chief Security Officer of Sanketika Technical Campus P. Satyanarayana hoisted the tri-colour. Secretary and correspondent of Dadi Institute of Engineering and Technology (DIET) Dadi Ratnakar unfurled the flag at the college.

Vignan group (Visakhapatnam) celebrated the day at their Duvvada campus. K. Pavan Krishna CEO of the group and principals of all the colleges were present at the flag hoisting ceremony.

A colourful parade and cultural programmes were presented by the students.

At PRISM Degree and PG College, the tri-colour was unfurled by former Vice-Chancellor of GITAM University Subrahmanyam.
