Online counselling for admission into B.Tech and B. Pharm courses of GITAM University commenced simultaneously in Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Tirupati and Bengaluru on Wednesday.
GU Vice-Chancellor G. Subrahmanyam handed over the admit cards to selected students on the first day. Most of the students opted for mechanical, ECE, CSE and IT branches in B. Tech. GU engineering admissions are based on the GITAM Admission Test-2014 score.
The vacancy position in each of the nine branches of B.Tech and B. Pharm was displayed on LCD screens simultaneously at all the centres. Counselling would be held till June 16. Counselling for M. Tech and M. Pharm would be held on June 18, admissions director K. Narendra said.
Meanwhile, Prof. Subrahmanyam said the university was giving top priority to provide industrial exposure to the students. He also informed that GU had signed MoU with few foreign universities for academic collaborations and industries like steel plant, HPCL, Erricson India, TCS, HCL and IBM.
