Get set for a double treat

January 31, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:50 am IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

After presenting as many as 654 jokes in an hour to find a place on the Guinness Book of World Records in 2013, Korukonda Ranga Rao, an employee of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, is embarking on a new mission to set new standards to get into Limca Book of Records.

In an attempt to break a double record of sorts, Mr. Ranga Rao has come up with an innovative concept of two-in-one attempt -- ‘Most jokes told in one minute’ and ‘10-hour non-stop solo performance’ on Sunday. Organised by Laughters Fun Club, the event is going to be unique where Mr. Korukonda will be donning more than 40 characters as part of his solo performance that will continue for an hour. “Each skit would last for five to 20 minutes. The best part is that it is a one-man show. Although I have made my presence felt in Asia Book of Records, Telugu Book of Records, India Book of Records and Book of State Records, this is going to be special for me as it is the first time that I am clubbing two events on the same day,” says a visibly excited Mr. Ranga Rao.

Former MLA Malla Vijaya Prasad, member of District Cultural Council Kosana, president of the club Vemula Bhaskarachari, joint secretary P.K. Durgaprasad along with other club members launched the poster of the event which is scheduled to begin at Vysakhi Jala Udyanavanam from 9 a.m. on Sunday.
