What I have said was said by all (regarding bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh) and if I am served a show-cause notice, all, including the Chief Minister, PCC president, Ministers and MLAs should be served show-cause notices, Minister for Investments and Infrastructure Ganta Srinivasa Rao said here on Tuesday.
“I am waiting and let’s see. Why should I get a notice”, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said dismissing the reports that he would be served a notice for criticising the Congress high command on bifurcation issue. Addressing a press conference here he went on to add that every one should get a notice.
However, he avoided questions on his reported switch over to Telugu Desam and when sought details of the meeting the former Praja Rajyam MLAs had with their leader K. Chiranjeevi a few days ago, the Minister said Mr. Chiranjeevi told the MLAs not to take a hasty decision.
He felt that discussion on State Reorganisation Bill (Telangana Bill) must take place in the Assembly on every clause of the Bill and every MLA irrespective of his or her party affiliation must oppose the bifurcation and vote against the Bill and later a resolution could be passed to keep the State unified.
He was confident that the President who has lot of experience behind him and , or the national political parties would think again of okaying a Bill that was rejected by a State Assembly.
No State was divided without the consent of its Assembly and if there was an ambiguity in the Constitution, conventions should be followed.
He regretted that nothing was happening in the Assembly with each party sticking to its stand.
