Ganja worth Rs.1.27 crore seized in Visakhapatnam district

In a major haul, the District Police conducted a raid and seized 36 bags of ganja valued at Rs.1.27 crore in the early hours of Wednesday.

On a tip-off, the sub inspectors of Rolugunta and Narsipatnam Town Police Stations conducted the raid around 3:30 a.m. near a stone quarry at Nindugonda village of Rolugunta mandal and arrested five accused, according to Assistant Superintendent of Police (Narsipatnam) Vishal Gunni.

The accused were identified as Elisetti Sathibabu, Duggada Panthulu, Vanthala Chinnayya, Vanthala Asu and Sendheri Kesava Rao. A case was registered against the accused under the NDPS Act and they were sent for judicial custody.
