Gachibowli-like sports arena to come up in city

HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao opened the new office building of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI) at Shivajipalem here on Thursday.

He appreciated the role of CREDAI in the development of the city. He also lauded its contribution of Rs. 50 lakh post cyclone Hudhud — Rs. 25 lakh each to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and for plantation and tree guards.

Mr. Srinivasa Rao said that the government would extend its cooperation in resolving any problem related to the construction sector. He said the issues pertaining to supply of sand would be sorted out. The Chief Minister had already held a meeting. Another meeting would be convened with the stakeholders.

He said an integrated sports complex on the lines of the one at Gachibowli in Hyderabad would come up in Visakhapatnam. Efforts would be made to organise National Games in the State.

Tree guards would also be provided by it. MLA V. Ramakrishna Babu expressed happiness at CREDAI adopting a part of his constituency.

CREDAI A. P. chairman K. Subba Raju and president Siva Reddy, Visakhapatnam chapter chairman B. Raja Srinivas, president K. Rama Krishna Rao, and honorary secretary Peela Koteswara Rao, and former chairmen — K.S. Chandran and M.V.V. Satyanarayana — were among those present.
