From adding colour to the canvas to learning the nuances of classical dance and bringing innovative thoughts to the fore, summer is the time for a majority of children to set aside a few weeks for their creative pursuits.
Many organisations have come up with a list of options for children to pick their favourite choice this vacation.
Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama is conducting a two-week-long Vivek summer camp for those studying Classes V to X from May 6. Chanting of hymns, techniques to meditate, values and communication skills are some of the subjects trainers will teach at the ashrama till May 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Sharing tips and shortcuts to calculate accurately, Visakha Institute of Competitions is hosting an exclusive maths camp for students of Classes III to VIII from May 1 to 31. The classes will be held at NGGOs Colony, Akkayyapalem branch between 7:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
Host of activities
For those who like to enrol themselves into classical dance classes, Kuchipudi dancer and trainer Sai Krishna Sannidha is conducting a month-long camp from April 26 to May 27. The classes will be held at Kshatriya Sankshema Samithi, ASR Bhavan opposite Kshatriya Kalyanamandapam, Seethammadhara from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Robotics boot camp, science camp, personality development classes, chess, art classes and cursive writing form a part of the first batch of the summer workshops at JustBooks Library, Lawson’s Bay Colony which will be held from May 1.
An outdoor summer camp is also in store for children of 10 years of age and above between May 14 and 25. Yoga, aerobics, public speaking, card making, creative art, team building and games will form part of the camp.
The annual summer coaching at YMCA includes classes such as abacus, painting, chess, karate, dance, music, swimming, yoga and many more. The 34th edition of the camp will be held from May 1 to 30.
Focussing on science, technology, electronics, robotics, aero-modelling, language skills, Mega Robotic Technology, a training centre, is offering activity-based classes for children from April 30.
Smart Kidz Pre-School will entertain kids aged between two and 12 years offering assorted courses to suit the vacation needs. From fireless cooking to skating, art and craft classes to storytelling sessions, ‘sloka patanam’ to science experiments, participants will have a chance to select from the list. The classes will start from April 25 (9 a.m. to 12 p.m.) at the venue.
