Focus more on safety, staff at industries told

Organisations across the city, including the public sector undertakings, launched the National Safety Week celebrations on Wednesday marking the 44th National Safety Day.

“It is the responsibility of everyone to imbibe the culture of safety and adopt the best safety practices,” Director of Factories G. Bala Kishore told RINL collective launching the celebrations at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.Competitions held

“Safety is a continuous affair and not a subject to be discussed only during events like Safety Week,” Chairman and Managing Director of Dredging Corporation of India Ltd Rajesh Tripathi said asking the employees to participate actively in different events conducted during the week. Competitions on safety like quiz/ slogan for DCI employees and elocution/poster for local schoolchildren are being organised during the week.

Blood donated

CISF unit of the Visakhapatnam Port Trust organised a blood donation camp to mark the occasion. It was held at the CISF campus at Kailaspuram in association with Lions Blood Bank. Hindustan Shipyard Ltd Director (strategic project) Cmde Ashok Bhal administered the safety pledge to the employees.

Pat for staff

At the Andhra Petrochemicals Ltd, chief executive officer and chief operating officer V.N. Rao congratulated the employees who strived to maintain high standards of safety and work culture in the company. Senior Installation Manager of HPCL Visakha New White Oil Terminal administered the safety pledge to employees, associates, truck crew, security and contract workmen.
