Young and aspiring models in the city can now look forward to set the ramp on fire as ‘Miss Vizag 2013’ is around the corner.
The fifth edition of the contest, organised by Creative Plus Entertainment Network, aims to identify the talent and encourage them to nurture the expertise through the platform on September 14.
Some 22 entries will be selected for the contest and then groomed for a week before the grand finale commences, said CEO of Creative Plus Ajay Agarwal. “The city has a lot of talented youngsters who do not find a right channel to showcase their creativity. Contests such as these help fashion designers and young models showcase their creativity,” he explained.
Prizes
Fashion choreographer Pranav Hamal, who choreographed Lakme Fashion Week SR 2013, is visiting the city to groom the selected models and choreograph the event.
Fashion designer Kishan Bhagri is exhibiting his bridal collections and former Miss India Universe Ushosi Sengupta is expected to attend the event.
Apart from the Miss Vizag winner and two-runners up, there are titles such as best eyes, best skin, best smile and best hair, among others to be won.
The winners will walk away with gifts and cash prizes up to Rs. 3 lakh, according to the organisers.
Candidates between the age group of 18 and 25 are eligible to take part in the show.
Plantation drive
The selected models will be visiting Malkapuram, Sriharipuram and One Town areas to support tree plantation drive initiated by the event organisers.
The venue of the contest is yet to be decided. Sai Prasad of Ardar Association, anchor Vaishali, R.J. Rohit of 93.5 Red FM and few of the models attended the poster launch of Miss Vizag 2013. Interested candidates can get the application forms at any of the outlets - Pantaloons Retail Shop, 93.5 Red FM or Eat food court at Varun Inox and the last date to apply for the contest is August 31.
