Zonal Commissioners told to review sanctioned works

The existing taxes would be continued in Anakapalle and Bheemunipatnam and the 10 villages that have been merged into GVMC recently, Commissioner M.V. Satyanarayana said at a review meeting on Saturday.

The existing tax system in the two former municipalities must not be changed and the town planning permission should be issued as per the existing rules and regulations, he told the officials concerned.

Additional Commissioner B. Nagendra Kumar, Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Somannarayana, Zonal Commissioner in-charge of Anakapalle Zone Srinivas, Zonal Commissioner of Bheemli Zone Rammohan, OSD for IT Nageswara Rao and other officials participated in the review meeting.

Revenue from taxes has to be deposited in the GVMC Commissioner’s account and required amount can be transferred to the Zonal Commissioner concerned. A Zonal Commissioner can sanction works worth less than Rs. 2 lakh. He wanted the Zonal Commissioners to review the sanctioned works and take them up according to priority.

Salaries

Salaries to employees have to be drawn from general funds and the system of releasing salaries for teachers and some other staff under 010 account from the treasuries should be continued, Mr. Satyanarayana said.
