Relish the finest moods of winters amidst the seamless lush greenery of Chhattisgarh. For weekend travellers, Chhattisgarh Tourism Board has introduced a special package covering the weekend that offers a breathtaking peep at some of the most beautiful places near Jagdalpur.
One of the exotic experiences that the tour offers is the journey through the dense forest of Kanger Valley to the magnificent Tirathgarh waterfalls, situated at a distance of 32 km. from Jagdalpur.
Here the grandeur of nature’s beauty comes alive through the breathtaking view of the gushing waterfalls perched in the middle of the forest.,
After an enjoyable drive through dense forests and climbing down a flight of energy sapping steep steps, you can get a grand view of the falling sheets of water that descends from a height of 50 metres.
There is also an old Shiv-Parvati temple at the site. You can go up the watchtower to enjoy the panoramic view of the waterfalls and surrounding forests.
The waterfalls range from zig-zag trickles to roaring falls. Smaller waterfalls include the Kanger Dhara near Kutumsar, Mandra, Chitradhara, Tamada and Dhoomar. Although some of these are small, they are surrounded with greenery, and a treat to the eyes.
Weekend tour
The weekend tour is a two-day and one night package with accommodation facility at CTB’s guest house at Asna. It covers the two famous waterfalls Tirathgarh and Chitrakoot on day one followed by a visit to the places of importance and handicrafts market at Jagdalpur.
