Candidates have to report for verification along with all their original certificates of educational qualifications, caste and income certificates.

The counselling process for engineering students, which failed to take off at the Government Polytechnic due to the Samaikyandhra agitation and strike by polytechnic lecturers, will now be held at Dr. V.S. Krishna Government College at Maddilapalem from Friday.

The verification of certificates of EAMCET qualified candidates, who obtained ranks between 1 and 20,000, will now be done at Dr. V.S. Krishna College.

All qualified candidates with the above ranks can report at new venue by 10 a.m. “All arrangements have been completed to take up the verification process. Our college staff members have been counselled on the procedures and systems have already been given to us,” Principal V. Chandrasekhar said on Thursday evening.

Mr. Chandrasekhar said that around 600 students were expected to attend the counselling on the first day and after seeing the response, more staff members would be pressed into service depending on the need.

Candidates have to report for verification along with all their original certificates of educational qualifications, caste and income certificates.

Prohibitory orders

Prohibitory orders, under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code, have been promulgated to prevent the possible disruption of the counselling process by Samaikyandhra activists. No unauthorised persons would be allowed in a radius of 100 metres around the college campus, according to a statement issued by Police Commissioner B. Shivadhar Reddy.
