Thieves broke into two different shops in the city and stole electronic goods worth around Rs.6.5 lakhs.

D. Venkata Rajasekhar, proprietor of Goldie camera shop, went home after locking his shop located on Diamond Park Road at Dwarakanagar on Wednesday night. He went to open the shop at 9 a.m. as usual on Thursday. He asked the sales boy to open the lock and the latter noticed that the shutter was bent suggesting that a theft had occurred. Mr. Rajasekhar found that 44 professional cameras worth around Rs.5 lakhs were stolen. The thieves removed the cameras and threw away the cartons in the shop.

Forensic experts collected the fingerprints of the thieves found on the cartons. Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Krishna Murthy Naidu and Fourth Town CI DLN Varma visited the scene of crime.

In a separate incident at Siripuram, thieves broke into an electronic goods shop located opposite the Government Circuit House late on Wednesday night and stole four LCD TV s worth Rs.1.55 lakhs.

When the owner went to open his shop on Thursday morning, he found the LCD TV s stolen. On a complaint filed by K. Venkata Suresh Kumar, the Fourth Town Police registered a case.

Three Town CI P.V. Krishna Varma is investigating the case.
