Eight workers injured in mishap at VSP

Eight workers sustained minor injuries when sparks from hot metal fell on them at Steel Melt Shop-I of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant on Wednesday.

Waste material came in contact with water creating sound with sparks hitting the contract workers. They received minor injuries and six of them were discharged after first-aid and two were kept under observation.

An RINL release said a ‘very minor’ incident occurred at DF Bay in SMS-1 wherein metal/slag splinters affected eight contract workers. There was no damage to equipment, men and material.
