Arrangements are in place for conducting the Education Common Entrance Test (EdCET) 2014 at 349 test centres in 42 cities and towns in Andhra Pradesh on Friday, its Convenor Nimma Venkata Rao said here on Thursday.
As many as 1,65,781 have registered for the test, for admission into B.Ed. colleges in the State and 1,11,742 are from Osmania University region.
Chairman of the AP State Council of Higher Education L. Venugopal Reddy will select the examination set code at 6 a.m. here on Friday in the presence of Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University and Chairman of EdCET 2014 G.S.N. Raju and Vice-Chairman of APSCHE P. Vijaya Prakash. The set code will be informed immediately to all the test centres, where the examination will commence at 11 a.m.
Test for Urdu medium students is being held only at two centres in Hyderabad and one centre in Kurnool.
Prof. Venkata Rao asked candidates to be present at their examination centres at 10 a.m. and that they will not be allowed inside the examination hall after 11 a.m. No electronic gadget will be allowed inside the test centres.
There are 66,730 seats available in 618 education colleges in the State, including 16,680 under management quota.
