A three-member team from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Friday, visited the ACA-VDCA stadium here, which is the venue for the second Test between India and England from November 17 to 21.
This is the first Test being played in the city and also AP and the EBC team came here to inspect the facilities available at the venue. It has earlier visited the other places where England is playing Tests with India.
The ECB team consisting of John Donald Carr, Anthony Eatherdale and Reginald Clyde Dicason went round the stadium looking at the pitch, outfield, practice area, dressing rooms and other facilities.
Security discussed
During a discussion, Andhra Cricket Association president D.V.S.S. Somayajulu, vice-president G.J.J. Raju and joint secretary Ch. Arun Kumar explained the facilities in the stadium and also about hotels and the security arrangements that would be in place for the match.
“The ECB representatives were happy with the stadium and the facilities outside,” Mr. Somayajulu told The Hindu after the inspection by the ECB team. Police officials from the Madhurawada police station explained how the security aspect would be taken up. With the map of the stadium the ACA officials and the police officials explained the arrangements that would be made for the match.
