Earth Hour observed

In a major initiative, the management, employees of NTPC Simhadri Super Thermal Station and residents of Deepanjalinagar Township observed Earth Hour, a symbolic global initiative by World Wildlife Fund (WWF), by switching off lights for one hour from 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Group General Manager A.K. Samanta, his team and the residents of NTPC Simhadri Colony switched off all the lights in the quarters, shops in the township voluntarily. A procession with candles was also taken from Round Circle near Deepika Ladies Club to the stadium. Mr. Samanta appreciated the spirit of the residents of the colony in observing Earth Hour to protect the environment and the planet.

Among others, General Manager (Projects) Santhosh James, General Manager (Operations & Maintenance) S. Narendra, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Bardhan, Assistant General Managers N.S. Rao, Ganesh, K.V. Prasad, S.A. Sharief and K.S. Murthy were present.
