The city unit of CPI on Monday went on a dharna near the Gandhi statue at GVMC opposing auctioning of 51 acres of land meant for Rajiv Swagruha at Endada and demanding that houses be constructed to those who applied for houses in the gated community housing project.
Party city secretary J. V. Prabhakar and assistant secretary M. Paidiraju who led the dharna demanded that the housing project be transferred to VUDA for execution and described the auction as an attempt to gift away land to private agencies.
T. Satyanarayana had applied for a house at Mangalagiri in Guntur district. He had paid a deposit of Rs.3,000 in April, 2007, for 1,100 sft house in 266.67 square yards. After two years, some enquiries were made at his house here to confirm the details given in the application.
“After that I have not heard from them. I am planning to approach the consumer forum seeking justice,” Mr. Satyanarayana said.
