A day-long exhibition was conducted by the British Council here on Sunday with due focus on UG and PG courses offered in various universities, scholarship opportunities, University and College Application System and International English Language Testing System (IELTS).

‘Discover UK Day’ exhibition was an open forum for aspirants to explore a plenty of avenues available in the UK-based institutions.

A number of enthusiastic students accompanied by their parents approached representatives of Northumbria University, Newcastle Business School, University of Central Lancashire, London Metropolitan University, Queen’s University Belfast, Plymouth University and University of Hertfordshire to enquire about the degree and PG programmes, fee structure and visa procedures.

Senior Manager of Education, UK, Sonu Hemanii said “It’s for the first time that a fair has been hosted involving university representatives.”

“I always aspired to pursue higher education in the UK. The platform gave me a chance to check the course details available in various institutions,” says Akhila Vempali, BBA student of Prism Degree and PG College.

“The teaching pattern is also quite different in the UK as it is based on research rather than content-driven,” said Satish Sharma, Associate Professor in Finance, Northumbria University Newcastle Business School. Similar exhibitions will be held in Guwahati and Nagpur soon.
