Disaster response system

November 25, 2014 12:10 am | Updated 12:10 am IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

IBM has offered to prepare a disaster response system for the city on the lines of the one they have prepared for Uttarakhand.

At the India US Business Conclave at New Delhi, the company volunteered to prepare the system facilitating the tracking of a natural disaster before it struck, according to Municipal Commissioner M. Janaki.

At the conclave the company representatives made a presentation and volunteered to prepare the response system free of cost to Visakhapatnam.

The plan would differ from that of Uttarakhand as the Himalayan State was prone to rain, floods and landslides and Visakhapatnam to cyclones.
