Digitisation of field measurement books (FMBs) in the district commenced on Saturday with launching of a training programme for 90 persons in the process.

Digitisation of FMBs is being taken up jointly by AP SAC, Planning Department and Survey and Land Records Department by using CollabLand software.

Collector N. Yuvaraj, while inaugurating the training programme for the first batch of 30 persons, said every care must be taken before the details of land were uploaded because corrections cannot be made later.

They should ensure that the details loaded would not lead to problems in future. Every village would have an FMB containing all details of land under survey numbers, he explained and wanted land in urban areas also surveyed and details recorded.

There were 2,27,163 FMBs in the district and 233 were missing, Joint Collector J. Nivas said. The training for the first batch would be completed in a month and the entire digitisation process would be completed in a year’s time, he said.

Assistant Director of Survey and Land Records Department Manisha Tripathi, Assistant Director of CSO D.L.P.L. Anil Kumar, software expert Tatababu, trainer Ramesh and others were present.
