The Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has undertaken a drive to sensitise first generation entrepreneurs on incentives given under Niryat Bandhu Scheme.

Niryat Bandhu is an innovative programme launched by the Union government on October 13, 2011 to mentor first generation entrepreneurs as part of foreign trade policy. The aim of the scheme is to help new exporters and importers by leveraging the knowledge base of officers and providing timely and appropriate support.

At one such programme conducted here recently in association with Andhra Chamber of Commerce, Joint Director General of Foreign Trade P.K. Ghosh gave details on the incentives being offered to the first-time entrepreneurs.

The export incentives include five per cent from Vishesh Krishi Gramin Udyog, 10 per cent from Agri Infra Incentive Scheme and Market Link Focus Production Scheme two per cent. Zero duty for capital goods and deemed export benefits such as refund of terminal excise duty, duty draw back and advance licence/authorisation.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said interested persons could approach DGFT office at Sripriya Complex, Railway New Colony (Ph. 2550067) or mail visakhapatnam-dgft@nic.in for details.

Mr. Ghosh said they were committed to provide support mechanism to young entrepreneurs and indicated that they would hold workshops regularly to create awareness on various issues.
