Devotees worship Lord Jagannath in ‘Matsyavataram’

Devotees worshipped Lord Jagannath in the form of ‘Matsyavataram’ as part of the ongoing Rath Yatra celebrations at Turner’s Choultry here on Thursday. New clothes were presented to the Lord by Sri Venkateswara Temple in Port Area, Sri Swayambhu Vigneswara Swamy temple of Chodavaram and Himamsu Book Depot. An ‘anna danam’ was organised by Mutyam Suryanarayana in which food was distributed to 300 devotees. In the evening, Tata Ramajogi and party presented devotional songs. The Lord will give darshan to devotees as ‘Kurmam’ on Friday. Deputy Commissioner of Endowments Ch. V. Ramanamma, Assistant Commissioner B.V.S. Durga Prasad and EO of Sri Jagannadha Swamy temple A. Jagannadha Rao supervised the arrangements.
