Delhi AC Express passengers tweet their woes

The AC – 22415/16 Visakhapatnam-New Delhi-Visakhapatnam AP Express, which drew flak from passengers in the past due to its low average speed and ‘inconvenient timings’, has evoked angry Tweets from passengers during the last two months for its poor maintenance.

There were over half-a-dozen Tweets from passengers, who travelled on this train on different days during July and August complaining of frequent violent jerks, poor sanitation in the coaches, lack of pantry men in the coaches, missing covers on the lights, non-functioning of the AC and even misbehaviour of a TTE on this train.

Duvvada Railway User’s Association secretary K. Eswar combined the Tweets and sent them to the Railway Minister.

The Railways instead of taking remedial measures asked him for his PNR number.

He wonders: What is the need to know the PNR no.?

The Vijayawada DRM Tweeted to Mr. Eswar that the 22416 New Delhi – Visakhapatnam AP Express was cleaned as part of the ongoing ‘Swacchat Pakhwada’ at Vijayawada on August 21.

While thanking the Vijayawada DRM, Mr. Eswar hoped that the same should be taken up on the train in the return direction from Visakhapatnam to New Delhi.
