A cyclothon was organised by Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan on the World Forestry Day on Monday.

Students of the school took up the initiative of collecting 44,598 signatures from the people of the city to garner support for the cycle track from R.K. Beach to Bheemunipatnam to facilitate safe pedalling and to gain momentum among the public.

The collection of signatures was handed over to the GVMC Commissioner B. Ramanjaneyulu and appealed to him to consider the proposal and thereby promote cycling among the next generation.

The Commissioner congratulated the children and distributed cycles for the first three winners – K. Bhavani (class VII), Yash Kalani (class IX) and G. Nomi (class VII) – who had gathered the maximum number of signatures.
