Cultural, literary events to mark ‘Ugadi vedukalu’ in Vizag

VUDA has made elaborate arrangements for Ugadi celebrations at 5.30 p.m. on Monday at Gurajada Kalakshetram with cultural and literary programmes along with distribution of the traditional ‘Ugadi patchadi’ to all.

Brahmasri Rampa Lakshminarayana Sarma will be rendering ‘Panchanga Sravanam’. ‘Ghantasala Gaanaamrutam’ by founder of Ghantasala Smaraka Peetham T. Sarath Chandra is also slated for the occasion.

VUDA ‘Ugadi Asthanam’ will be conducted with 19 writers and poets for reciting ‘Ugadi Kavitalu’. Students of PSR Public School, Vizianagaram, will present a dance ballet ‘Sampurna Ramayanam’. Another dance ballet ‘Dasavataralu’ will be performed by students of Chaitanya English Medium School, Gajuwaka, in fusion style along with a hilarious mime on the adverse affects of cellphone. A dental student from Kakinada Sri Lakshmi Sindhuja will present ‘Nava Janardhana Parijatam’ in Andhra Natyam style.

GVMC Commissioner and in-charge VC of VUDA M.V. Satyanarayana and Additional Commissioner M. Janaki will attend.
