CTF raids gutkha unit

The City Task Force (CTF) raided an unauthorised Gutkha manufacturing unit at Allupeta of Bheemili mandal.

The CTF team led by ACP I. Chittibabu, apprehended one person by name Sonu Tiwari of Berhampur and seized Gutkha mixing and packing machinery worth ₹10 lakh and seized huge quantity of prohibited Gutkhas and raw material which has a market value of about ₹ 8 lakh.

According to Mr. Chittibabu, the accused was printing branded labels illegally and pushing the product into the market. During enquiry it was revealed that one Neel Madhav alias Satish has been operating this unauthorised Gutkha making unit.

The accused along with seized property have been handed over to the Food & Safety authorities and GVMC for further action.
