CRPF hoists national flag in Agency areas

The 71st Independence Day was celebrated at the unit headquarters of 198 Bn. CRPF. K. S. Deswal, Commandant, hoisted the National Flag on Prahalad Kalyanmandapam premises and similar ceremonies took place at all places where CRPF men are deployed in interior areas of Agency along the AOB. The largest paramilitary force has once again been decorated with the highest Gallantry Medals among police forces. It has been awarded with 57 gallantry medals, of which two are Kirti Chakras, two Shourya Chakras, and 53 Police medal for gallantry.Commandant read out the names of awardees and applauded their contribution towards nation building.This was followed by traditional “At home” ceremony at their Subordinate mess, where gazetted officers are invited on the occasion of ‘Independence Day’. As part of celeberations, a unit level volleyball match and tug off war competitions were organised at the Police Ground at Kailasagiri. Later in the evening, ‘Bada Khana’ was organised at Unit Headquarters and at all coy locations.
