CPI (ML-Liberation) to contest 2 LS seats

CPI (ML-Liberation) contesting two Lok Sabha seats and four Assembly seats in the State has released its manifesto. Boddu Vasudeva Rao will contest from Srikakulam Lok Sabha and Yegupati Arjuna Rao from Kakinada.

The four Assembly seats are: Palasa, Pratthipadu, Pithapuram and Nuziveed.

The party opposed private acquisition of forest land, coastal areas and traditional fishing zones and wanted a new law to be enacted to protect farmland and increased public investment in agriculture. It vowed to work for a pro-people shift in economic policies.

The party opposed FDI in retail and strategic sectors and privatisation of key infrastructure and financial sectors and resources like oil, gas and minerals to be brought under public sector.

Besides controlling price of essential commodities and services, it demanded that 50 kgs of rice per month along with pulses, sugar, milk and edible oil should be ensured.
