CPI (M) invites public to meeting on Beach Road

The staccato of hundreds of traditional Dappu drums of Communist Party of India (Marxist) party workers from across the state reverberated at the venue of the party 21st Congress and also the National Highway that passes by it.

The drum beat along with other performances like pyramid and dances drew the attention of the travellers and passersby all along the five km long rally taken out by the party activists on Saturday to invite public to attend the public meeting being organised on the Beach Road on Sunday.

The public meeting would also be announcing the arrival of the new team at the helm of affairs the party at the end of the six-day party 21st Congress.

Inviting the general public and the working class to attend the public meeting of the only party committed to the welfare of the oppressed and marginalised, CPI (M) State secretary P Madhu flagged off a rally by beating a traditional Dappu from the venue of the party 21st Congress here on Saturday.

A rally of hundreds of traditional dappu performers from across the state went around the city announcing the time and venue of the public meeting being organised by the CPI(M). Polit Bureau member B V Raghavulu would preside over the public meeting, which would be addressed by Polit Bureau members, Prakash Karat, Brinda Karat, Sitaram Yechury and Manik Sarkar.

Party workers and sympathisers would go out in a rally from the RTC Complex to the venue on Sunday afternoon.

Condemning the anti-worker policies of the Congress and BJP, he asserted that the CPI (M) is the only alternative to the two political parties at the national level. The Left parties shall take up struggles on people’s issues, he declared and said that they would organise agitations to make the State Government live up to its promise of loan waiver for farmers and members of self help groups.

Accompanied by party district secretary B Ganga Rao, he went around the main road near the venue inviting everyone to attend the public meeting.
