Inspired by the beauty of nature and Indian women, Ravi Kattakuri’s solo exhibition encapsulates his Madhubani style of painting in vivid hues and forms.

Using mixed media on paper and acrylics on canvas, over 100 paintings portraying women, rural setting, and animals and human emotions had been put up at the exhibition, ‘Artism-2014’, that began on Friday.

“I enjoy capturing different emotions of Indian women as I consider them both attractive and expressive. It is this fact that brings the best out of me,” says Ravi.

He has made the city proud by hosting dozens of exhibitions across the length and breadth of the world.

He says, “All you need is patience and perseverance. It takes time to carve a niche in the art world. However, the struggles that I have gone through have made the wait worthwhile.”

“I don’t want to stick to any specific style of painting. I would like to bring out new themes into my works, experimenting with different media,” he says.

Based on international cultural exchange, Ravi’s next show is scheduled at Kaula Lumpur from August 1 to 30.

His solo exhibition is on at Hotel Palm Beach till July 22 between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m.
