A two-day national seminar on business ethics and human values, organised by the GITAM Institute of Management, concluded on Saturday.
Chief Vigilance Officer of Visakhapatnam Port Trust Pullela Murali Mohan, who was chief guest for the valedictory, said that values and ethics were part and parcel of life. Genetics, environment, religion, law and the organisation where one worked were the external factors that influenced ethics and human values, he said. Being ethical was nothing but being good to oneself and fellow beings, Mr. Murali Mohan said.
Principal of GIM K. Siva Rama Krishna said that modern business era was characterised by people rather then money and material.
The vision of society was to build leaders of future by meaningful and conscientious learning process to provide proper direction and momentum to their creativity and to imbibe willpower to achieve success.
Former Indian Economic Services officer C.S. Rao, Director of Department of Environmental Sciences of GITAM University T. Sivaji Rao, a chartered accountant V.S.N Murthy, Assistant Director of Drug Control Administration R. Udaya Bhaskar and Prabhakar of Green Vision Foundation discussed many topics and showed concern over deteriorating moral values in society.
