Colourful handlooms, attractive handicrafts, fancy tops, household items, furniture and furnishings and a host of other items find a place at the ongoing Indian Handicrafts and Handloom Expo – 2009 at Viswapriya Function Hall.
Around 130 stalls of artisans from all over India are displayed at the expo. “This is the fifth time we are conducting the exhibition here. The response here has always been very encouraging. This time we have also introduced some new stalls of ‘darris' from UP.
Antique furniture and handloom divan sets and sofa covers from UP,” said Shoib Alam and Parvez Ahmed Khan, organisers of the expo.
A 5 per cent discount is being offered on debit and credit card payments on all items.
With temperatures soaring high, the expo has an impressive range of soothing cotton dresses and tops from Lucknow and Kashmir.
Check out the finely embroidered Kashmiri tops and kurtas at attractive prices. These surely are a great buy for the simmering summer days. Also on display are Lucknowi Chikan kurtis in pleasing pastel shades.
One of the stalls featuring handloom divan sets will catch the eye at the expo. Participating for the first time in the expo, Mhd. Sabid from Meerut, UP, has an attractive range of divan sets, cushion covers and single and double bed sheets of handlooms.
Priced from Rs.80 (cushion cover sets) and Rs.220 (bedsheets) onwards, the collections will brighten up the interiors with the classy colour combinations.
Also available are fancy jewellery, handbags, sarees, foot wear among other items.
