Collector's directive on temple lands

Clear and elaborate reports must be prepared on the lands belonging to the Simhachalam Devasthanam in five villages, Collector Lav Agarwal told the officials of Revenue, Endowments, GVMC, and VUDA at a meeting held here on Thursday.

Complete details regarding the present status of the lands, encroached area, illegal constructions, etc. must be mentioned in the records, he said and wanted the GVMC and Endowment Departments to provide roads, water, and other amenities to the people.

Technical issues could be referred to the government and the land that could be used for common use by the people could be transferred to the Devasthanam, GVMC or VUDA.

A two-km stretch of road under the BRTS passing through Adavivaram could be transferred to the GVMC, the Collector said.

Municipal Commissioner B. Ramanjaneyulu, Vice-Chairman of VUDA K. Sasidhar, Joint Collector M. Girija Shankar, Executive Officer of Simhachalam Devasthanam B. Narasinga Rao and others attended the meeting.
