Collector's directive on road-laying

Work on laying of roads in the rural and remote areas of the district under the Rural and Interior Areas Development programme must be taken up on a war-footing, Collector Lav Agarwal told the officials concerned here on Thursday.

The Collector reviewed the programme with the officials of the police, forest, and engineering departments and wanted the 20 roads to be completed in three phases.

Superintendent of Police G. Sreenivas, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests N. Prateep Kumar, Joint Collector M. Girijan Shankar, OSD Kartikeya, Superintending Engineer of R and B Kantimathi, SE (Girijan welfare) Prasad, Forest and Panchayati Raj officials were present.

Preliminary survey

Preliminary survey has to be completed early to obtain permission from the Forest Department as most of the roads were proposed in the forest area.

He proposed some methods to secure permissions in short time.
