None of the district officials seem to be visiting any of the remote villages, District Collector N. Yuvaraj noted with dismay. Addressing a review meeting with district officials here on Monday, he said that the tour diaries of the officials clearly pointed out that none of the officials had gone beyond Araku. Directing them to tour the remote villages, he cautioned them that the TA, DA payments would be withheld if the officials were not found touring the district extensively.
He announced that he would be spending two days in remote villages either in the first week or last week of the month and directed the district officers to be prepared to stay in the villages. The mandal education officers must visit the schools at 9 a.m. and take the attendance of the teachers and students and send an SMS alert everyday, the Collector directed and noted with dismay that only a few were following it sincerely.
Reviewing the preparations for the Janmabhoomi-Maavuru programme that the State Government is planning to launch on October 2, he directed the officials to visit the villages and get acquainted with the local issues there. There are likely to be a large number of petitions on subjects such as pensions, ration cards, housing and MNREGS, among others, the Collector said.
Additional Joint Collector Y. Narasimha Rao, ZP CEO Maheshwar Reddy, JD Social Welfare Srinivasan, DWAMA PD Sriramulu Naidu, Housing Corporation ED Prasad, DMHO Shyamala, Civil Supplies officers and others were present.
