Collector V. Sheshadri on Thursday inaugurated the second city centre of Sankar Foundation Eye Hospital at Gajuwaka.
On the occasion, he lauded the services of the hospital and said it was a good opportunity to the people of the industrial belt and asked them to utilise the facility created closer home. The Gajuwaka facility is the second city centre of the hospital. Foundation executive trustee A.Vijay Kumar, CEO K.Anand Sudhan, Medical Director Ajay Sharma participated in the inaugural function. Sankar Foundation Eye Hospital was established in 1997 with a view to eliminating avoidable blindness in the North Coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh. So far 11,77,172 outpatients have been screened and1,96,257 operations, including 12,326 specialty surgeries, were performed. The hospital has 14 full-time ophthalmologists, seven fellow doctors, two anaesthetists and two physicians supported by 228 paramedical and administrative staff.
