He promises a package of Rs. 5,000 crore for Kapu community
Collar the corrupt Congress leaders who have pushed you into this state of penury, Telugu Desam Party president and former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has said. He was addressing a gathering at his first halt after resuming his ‘Vastunaa Mee Kosam’ padayatra from Sankaram village near Anakapalle.
The Congress government during the tenure of late Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy systematically looted the State and its resources and then pushed the people into poverty and made them pay through their noses for it in the form of taxes and surcharges.
Lashing out at the present Congress government under Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy for burdening ordinary people with hiked power tariff and high taxes, he said that the government was making people pay for the sins of misrule. The Rajiv Gruhakalpa Colony coming up at Sankaram village near here was a glaring example of the mis-governance.
The project that began in 2006 was still crying for attention, the quality of material used was poor and the apartments were not yet ready even after six years, he noted.
Promising to correct the errors of the Congress regime if he came to power, Mr. Naidu said that he would take steps to bring cheer to the common man. He reiterated his promise to take steps for helping the economically weaker sections of upper castes.
He promised that if he was voted to power, his government would give a package of Rs. 5,000 crore for five years specifically to address the Kapu community.
He took the opportunity to launch a tirade against the YSRCP and also the leaders from different parties who were joining it.
