Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has launched medical and health camps for girls being undertaken by Brandix India Apparel City (BIAC).
At a simple ceremony here on Friday night, Mr. Naidu expressed satisfaction over the initiative and lauded the efforts by Brandix, which has set up an apparel park at Atchutapuram near here, for empowerment of women by providing jobs in large numbers.
Mr. Naidu said the company was also taking proper care to address health needs of the workers.
The camps were launched in the presence of Anakapalle MP Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao, Yelamanchili MLAs Panchakarla Ramesh Babu, Visakha South MLA Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar and Brandix India partner Dora Swamy.
The camps aimed at addressing health issues focusing on young girls in the surrounding areas of Brandix Apparel Park will commence from first and third Sundays of every month from November 19 at Prasanthi Polytechnic and ITI College, Atchupuram, according to a press release here on Saturday.
BIAC said medical camps are conducted with the support of LifeSpring Maternity Hospital promoted by HLL Life Care Ltd, a Government of India Enterprise. Consultation, treatment and free medicines on key health issues pertaining to girls are offered. Expert advice on nutritious food intake and benefits is also provided at the camps.
