Clear applications for tap connections, officials told

Shift beneficiaries to houses: GVMC Commissioner

February 23, 2014 02:16 pm | Updated May 18, 2016 10:26 am IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

All the applications for new tap connections and semi and bulk connections must be cleared immediately, Commissioner of GVMC M.V. Satyanarayana told the officials on Saturday.

He wanted notices issued to the many apartments in the city that are without semi and bulk connections and provide connections to all those responding to the notices, the Commissioner said at a meeting of Zonal Commissioners and officers of different sections.

He directed officials to find out the beneficiaries who had not occupied the dwellings in the many housing complexes built for weaker sections and make them shift to the houses allotted to them. Implementation of Citizen Charter in Zonal Offices, being answerable to every application received at the counters of Citizen Charter, collecting fine from the officer responsible for delay in disposing of an application, collection of dry and wet garbage from houses, maintaining personal registers by clerks and superintendents were some of the other issues he discussed.
