Civil Services toppers feted

East Godavari district Collector M. Ravichandra has said that backwardness should not be a hurdle in anyone's life and those in the lower strata of society can also scale greater heights by proving their merit in exams like the Civil Services.

Delivering the key-note address at a programme organised to felicitate toppers of Civil Services-2010 hailing from SC, ST, BC and minorities sections, the Collector said that no one would be backward in studies or society if right opportunity was provided. He said that the government had been providing opportunities to backward classes, particularly SC, ST, BC and minorities to enable them to come up in life.

Chief Passenger Operating Manager (AGM) South Central Railway, A. Bharat Bhushan, who was the chief guest, said that students of SC, ST, BC and minorities, who were appearing for Civil Services, should not lose heart if they fail in the first attempt. He said that lot of motivation was required to pass the exam.

The toppers felicitated on the occasion were: Ch. Vijaya Rama Rao (102nd rank; IPS), D. Kalayana Chakravarti (401st rank; IPS), Jyothsna (97th rank; IAS), N. Sailaja (732nd rank; IRS), A. Babuji (201st rank; IAS), Ashok (454th rank; IPS) and B. Ramanjaneyulu (454th rank in 2007), R. Srinivas (ITRS) and S.J. Janardhan (Additional SP, East Godavari).

N. Samyul, honorary president of the welfare association that organized the function, V. Subhakara Rao, president, and others participated.
